Why does my Rover 75 Engr fan keep running?

If there is no or very little coolant in the system the fan will keep running even when the ignition is switched off. This a safety feature of all rover 75s’/MG ZTTs’. This should however only be on for a few minutes maximum, until the engine temp is low enough.

With everything detached you can now move the bonnet locking platform to one side, giving you full access to the radiator assembly as shown in the 2nd picture.
