Why are the brakes on my Peugeot 206 bleeding?

Bled right through three times now and used over two litres of brand new fluid. Anybody know if there’s some oddity or unusual procedure for getting this right on the 206? Would it have anything to do with the compensator valve?

Is the rear brake compensator on a 206 the same as the 206?

I don’t know if the 206 is the same but on a 205 there’s a particular technique to bleeding the rear brake compensator without which you won’t fully bleed the system. It’s detailed in the Haynes manual.

What to do when you bleed the brakes on a Honda Goldwing?

Crack the bleeder valve open, and pump the pedal until you see clean fluid going thru. Make sure to keep the reservoir full. Then close the bleeder valve and top off the reservoir, and see if that fixes it. If not, I have read several places, that you can weigh down the pedal with something heavy, for 24-48 hours, and that is supposed to work.

What does it mean when your brakes start to bleed?

Your pedal probably feels spongy and it’s often hard to feel exactly when the brakes start to bite. These are the telltale signs of air in the braking system, which happens over time with use. It’s time to replace that old brake fluid and bleed all of the air out of the system.

Which is the correct order to bleed the brake?

Each brake must be bled in the correct sequence. Generally, you bleed the brake most distant from the master cylinder first, but some cars require a different order. That information is available in the factory manual or from your dealer’s service department.

What happens when you Bleed your brake system?

Observe the motion of the fluid in the master-cylinder reservoir. If there is a substantial fluid eruption, there are air bubbles still trapped in the system. You must repeat the bleeding procedure to remove that air. A modest disturbance in the fluid, however, indicates a properly bled brake system.
