Is the heater on the passenger side working?

Heater Flap Broken – Air blowing hot on drivers side and cold on the passenger side. First time post in here. I have just bought a 2011 SRI Cruze 1.4 turbo manual. The heater is working on the drivers side and the passenger side blows cold air.

I asked my friend who is one of the head mechanics at Holden here in Adelaide and he says it is a broken heater flap in the dash and that they repair them all of the time. The job is a 12 hour job and only $300 in parts. Labor alone would be in excess of $1000.

Why is the left side of my AC heater warmer than the right?

Ideas? The heater core feeds water in from the drivers side, so if there is a clog or air pocket it’s more likely that the left side will be warmer than the right. The AC evaporator feeds in from the right, so low freon levels could favor the right side being cooler than the left.

Cycled white lever up and down by hand to see what happened, the heat went correctly to the drivers side when the white lever was in the up position. Put it back together and then hooked up the connector. Tested by changing the temperature setting and this time the white lever was moving.

One heater line to the firewall from the engine is hot while the other is cold. a/c and heat all comes out of defrost vent and cannot switch from hot to cold without shouting off engine for a little bit. ac and heat doesnt work,fan worksin three of four speeds.
