Can a Subaru Outback have very dim headlights?

But do check out the remedies suggested in this thread, and let us know how it goes. I’ve done a recent lens polish on my 2008, BTW, and it helped a lot.

Because of the DRLs, you can drive with the switch rotated to ‘parking lights’ and the DRLs are still on – but of course the high beams don’t activate in that mode. I used to hate the headlights on my ’99.

The fog lights provided most, if not all, of the lighting without resorting to high beams. Once I gained access to the bulb socket area, I released the paperclip type fastener and twisted the bulb and socket out of the headlight unit. I examined it and saw a small tab that had to be aligned.
