How does the cruise control work on a Toyota?

As well as the steering wheel control the cruise control needs to know when any of the pedals are being pressed. If you press the clutch or brake when the cruise control is on it should cancel the cruise. If you press the accelerator with cruise control on it should let you accelerate and then resume cruise after you release the pedal.
